The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (also known as The Conjuring 3) is an upcoming American supernatural horror film. The film will serve as a sequel to 2013's The Conjuring and 2016's The Conjuring 2, and as the eighth installment overall in the Conjuring Universe franchise. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles as paranormal investigators. The film is based on the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, a murder trial that took place in 1981 in Connecticut.
The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
