Moxie is based on the American comedy-drama genre. The story is related to the narration taken from the novel of the same name by Jennifer Mathieu. The story of Moxie revolves around 16-year-old Vivian aka Hadley Robinson who starts an anonymous magazine to call attention to the sexist and toxic behaviors at her high school. It sparks a “coming of rage” revolution among the student body. The film is directed by Amy Poehler, who also plays Vivian’s mother.
Moxie is a high-school movie for teens directed by Amy Poehler. Poehler also plays a small role as a single mother to a smart but lonely teenage girl naed Vivian. Cladia is her best friend but things go wrong between them because of Vivian's obsession for supercool new girl in school, Lucy and Seth, a feminist supportive guy. She gets angry by the sexist behaviiour of Mitchell, who's a football star and the fact that still people like him in school. Vivian is inspired by her old protest personality and starts a magazine called Moxie and start a feminist revolution at school. Many challenges come along the between her friendships and who she actually is.
The movie lacks humour which makes it hard to watch the movie till the end. The movie talks about topics like bullying, diversity and rape. Although, the movie will let down your expectations, especially in the climax. It's very underwhelming. It's an adaptation of Jennifer Mathieu's novel 2017. Overall, it's an average movie and a one time watch.
