The Rope Curse 2 is a story which is a 2020 release Taiwanese supernatural horror film revolving around a disturbed Taoist Priest who made attempts to rid a woman of a demon. The movie is a sequel to The Rope Curse released in 2018. It is directed by Shih-Han Liao from a screenplay written by Tzu-Ming Ma, the movie stars Kang-sheng Lee, Wilson Hsu, and Vera Chen.
Story Summary
The Rope Curse 2 revolves around a similar set up just like its part 1. But, however this time with some progressive danger. In the trailer, we get to see that there is a situation where six people attempted and committed suicide in the same room which tends to scare the people. The purification of the place is called upon so that no spirit can possess another living body. But something goes wrong.
The story sheds light on two characters, one is that of Huo-ge who has the capability to witness the supernatural spirits. He has lost his powers while expelling evil spirits and then after he killed his master. He unwillingly takes the part of playing the god Zhong Kui during the exorcism ritual in order to rescue the villager's lives from a cursed demon known as ‘The Thai God’ who is summoning people to commit suicide by killing themselves.
The trailer of the movie looks intriguing and chilling at the same time. The performances by the actors look gripping. The Rope Curse 2 is streaming on Netflix.
Review
The characters portrayed her role very well which makes you root for the actress to survive. Although the ending could have been different But nevertheless, it a great movie! The story is believable with strong acting, good music, and a great mood. Never too much absurd things are shown like other horror movies. This movie portrays some good differences between traditional and modern cultural norms and also gives a good insight into Taiwanese religious practices and rituals.
The movie is not that horrific that will hive you scare jumps but you will enjoy the story.
