The Big Bull is a 2021 release film that is based on an Indian Hindi-language crime drama. The story is by Kookie Gulati and produced by Ajay Devgan, Vikrant Sharma, Anand Pandit, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. The gist of the film is based on the life journey of Harshad Mehta, who is a stockbroker, dealing in financial crimes over a period of 10 years, from 1980 to 1990. Abhishek Bachchan will be seen portraying as the lead protagonist in the film, along with Ileana D'Cruz, Nikita Dutta, Shah, Ram Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla. The main work of the film kickstarted on 16 September 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was not able to be streaming theatrically. It released worldwide on 8 April 2021 on the streaming platform Disney+Hotstar.
Abhishek Bachchan's upcoming film Big Bull has the grand task of setting up with the growth and success of the Web series, Scam 1992. Related to the increase and decrease of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, the Hansal Mehta directed thriller show made a big impact on audiences and the scenes are still fresh. The outcome proved to be a massive hit and was greatly liked and admired by the viewers. The Big Bull trailer is wholly packed to activate emotions, but however as we have already seen the version of Hansal of the stock scam, the comparison became quite difficult. Still, the setting, the tone, the drama, the score, the Big Bull trailer has got it all. Director Kookie Gulati also included more Bollywood shots in the mix. But whether that proves to be a hit in its favor or not can be known when Big Bull hits Disney+Hotstar in the month of April.
Hemant Shah aka Abhishek manages the insider trading and the rest of the other illicit modes of creating money with the buying and selling of stocks. His actual motive and goal are to reach the first billionaire of India, no matter how. Mostly because it was a film that will be hitting the screen in the theatres, The Big Bull did add up some romance and songs. Most of the sections of scenes would make you recall you of Scam, the high-speed car scenes, lavish scale, and rousing dialogue do rise up the drama here.
It is quite acceptable to have the same plot lines between Scam 1992 and The Big Bull, as they are related to the same man. But Abhishek makes you rewind back to the time when he portrayed the role in Guru's character and doesn't really fall in that exception category. But, however, you would choose to keep a free mind and have the trust that there will be more to him than that.
Ileana D'Cruz portrays the role of a journalist who will definitely impress you. Nikita Dutta is Hemant's love interest. It is Sohum Shah's character portrayal that you will find very interesting. He could very well be the surprise package. To a great extent, similar connections are unavoidable between Scam 1992 and The Big Bull.
Looking after the release of the film on a streaming platform, Abhishek Bachchan told indianexpress.com, that from digital to television and then to screen, there is going to happen to be a massive variety on how you portray your stories. And there stayed the biggest problem for Kookie Gulati as he created this movie for the 70 mm screen and now due to the situation we were fixed in and because of the pandemic, he had to now grasp his storytelling style to make it conducted to a digital streaming platform.â€
Abhishek Bachchan shared his experience about portraying a morally doubtful man in the film and said, that when he was sharing the film with Kookie, he had said that if you’re going to cover up somebody then you am not up for it, because that makes a role of the character very one dimensional, and that’s not what he is interested in doing. Nowadays the choices audience has also changed and grown, and according to his understanding, they want to see the lead character be more human, they want to see his negativity, they want to see grey characters.
