Jayeshbhai Jordaar is an upcoming 2021 Indian Hindi-language film that is based on the theme of the social comedy genre. The film is written and directed by newcomer Divyang Thakkar and produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma. It features Ranveer Singh in the pivotal role, where he represents himself as a Gujarati man who follows and trusts in equal rights between males and females in the society accompanied by Tamil and Telugu actress Shalini Pandey featuring as the female lead opposite him in her Bollywood debut. Apart from them, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah will be performing as supporting cast.
The final schedule got completed at Gujarat in February 2020. Before the pandemic, it had been initially scheduled to have a theatrical release on 2 October 2020 coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti but however, the release was postponed and got dragged ahead due to theatres' shutdown as well as crucial situation because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now finally theatrically release on 27 August 2021.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar's is a story that revolves around a Gujarati man who believes that a man and a woman should get equal rights in society. The movie will have Siddharth Dhawan as its cinematographer, while Namrata Rao is the editor. The film is one of the most anticipated movies, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is based on a social comedy scenario that has been in talks since 2019. Ranveer Singh starrer is the movie is about an unlikely hero - an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he's pushed into a threatening situation.

Ranveer, who has worked with Maneesh Sharma in his debut film as a director (2010's Band Baaja Baaraat), wrote: "Maneesh sir, from Band Baaja Baaraat to Jayeshbhai Jordaar, it's been an incredible 10 years under your guidance. Divyang, you are a ball of love and positive energy. Thank you for making me your Jayesh." He gave his post a Gully Boyspin and added a touch of Gujarati as he said, "Apna Tem Aagaya Ne."
The Jayeshbhai Jordaar cast stars Ranveer Singh playing the main lead role of Jayesh Parekh aka Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The movie will also be the second Bollywood attempt of actor Shalini Pandey as Kinjal Ajmera. The actress is well known for representing herself in the role of Preethi Shetty in the 2017 Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, opposite Vijay Deverakonda. Boman Irani will be seen portraying the role of Jayesh's father, Mithilesh Parekh while Ratna Pathak plays the role of Jayesh's mother, Jalpa Parekh. The movie will also feature, Deeksha Joshi and Ragi Jani as Qainat Shroff and Sanjay Bhai, respectively. The cast also includes Puneet Issar.

The 25-year-old actress had made her acting debut in the industry with Arjun Reddy, a 2017 Telugu film. On featuring opposite the "Padmaavat" actor-Ranveer Singh, Shalini Pandey was quoted as saying, "I'm also very fortunate to be sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh who is one of the biggest superstars of our generation and also one of the most versatile actors," in an interview with news agency PTI.
In an interview with the news daily, Ranveer Singh shared about his new project and the character he will be essaying. Ranveer stated that his character is an ordinary man who ends up doing something extraordinary when thrown into a threatening situation. He deemed his character as sensitive and compassionate. Furthermore, he added that his character believes in equal rights between men and women in a society which is deeply patriarchal. Ranveer Singh added that Jayeshbhai Jordaar presented him with an exciting challenge. He got the opportunity of deconstructing himself and transformed into a character he hasn't inhabited before. As per reports, Jayeshbhai Jordaar will talk about women being subjected to judgment in Indian society.
He added that the film is a miracle script and that its sheer brilliance of the writers made him immediately say yes to the project.
Writer-director Divyang Thakkar in an interview stated that “I think on the other side of this pandemic, as far as going to the movies is concerned, we're all craving that community experience where we are entertained together, laugh and cry along with absolute strangers, that is the experience we are all craving for," he said. "And I hope that Jayeshbhai Jordaar manages to deliver on that front because it is designed primarily as an entertainer," he added.
"Beyond entertainment what I really hope for is, that if we are able to question somewhere, what does it really take to be a Jordaar mard? and you know, if we can somewhere, with Jayeshbhai Jordaar, manage to break that stereotype of a typical action hero and just start a dialogue on our perception of masculinity, then I feel we've achieved what we've set out to do," Thakkar said.
